Burritt On The Mountain
This unique museum of regional history is housed in the mountaintop home of Dr. William Henry Burritt. The remarkable 14-room mansion built in the shape of an X in the 1930's is insulated with 2,200 bales of wheat straw. The Historic Park contains restored farm buildings which interpret rural life during 1850 and 1900. Many nature trails wind through heavily wooded forest. The grounds, open year round, offer a breathtaking panoramic view of Huntsville and the Tennessee Valley. On a clear day you can see the Tennessee River and the towering NASA rocket test stands.

Straight To Ale
Founded by local home brewers in 2009, Straight to Ale has quickly grown to become one of Alabama’s largest production breweries. In the summer of 2016 we opened our new 45,000 square foot facility at Campus 805, reclaiming a long vacant Middle School campus on the edge of downtown Huntsville and turning it into a thriving community of breweries, bars, restaurants, and local shops. At this new location, we expanded to include cider and mead production along with distilled spirits (Shelta Cavern Spirits), a scratch made kitchen (Ale’s Kitchen), a pinball arcade and pool room (Ronnie Rayguns). Weeden House Museum And Garden
Built in 1819, the same year Alabama became a state, the Weeden House is the oldest house museum in Alabama. The house was home to several distinguished Huntsville owners before the Weeden... family purchased it in 1845. Maria Howard Weeden, painter and poet, was born in the house in 1846. She is credited as being one of the first Americans to paint African Americans true to life, and some of her works are on display throughout the home.
